Hey Ciaran, very happy to see this OGR and satisfied to see you've got all your ducks in a row as per the guidance. Good stuff! I LOVE that pencil sketch of your robot walking beside that row of trees - that's immediately very charming and that robot has real 'Aardman' appeal.

I do have this observation to make about your script; one of the really poignant aspects to your story idea was the sense that the robot had been programmed to be in service to humankind - it's whole reason-for-being characterised by service and readying this world for families etc. In your current script, this aspect isn't communicated - so the pathos of the robot not living to meet his 'human family' isn't there. I think it's a simple enough fix really - we just need some kind of totem by which the audience understands the robot's 'emotional' relationship to the human race. I was thinking it could be as simple as there being some kind of embedded film inside the robot's programming - the advert being used to sell the idea of terraforming to the pioneer families back on earth - it would be even more film if this advert was beamed out of the robot like R2D2's projection of Leia in StarWars - so adverts something like this:

The advert would be about terraforming - it would basically tell the audience exactly what the robot was doing - and would include perhaps images of the perfect world, with that same 'tear drop spaceship' landing and a perfect family (mum, dad, girl, boy and a dog!) walking down the ramp into their new life towards the same model of the robot whose story we're watching.

You could use him watching this film as the means by which to show the deterioration of the robot - because the film could be glitching etc. I just think you need something like this to ensure we're not just watching the plot - (robot gets knackered out while terraforming) - but instead we're watching the story - which is something more emotional. What do you think?
